FO: Ishbel.

Oh, Ishbel... Such beautiful shawl. Over eleven and a half thousands projects on Ravelry can prove it. I always wanted to knit one and now that I did, I'm sure I will knit another. And another. It's simple but very effective.

This one here is for my mother-in-law. I knit it as my birthday gift for her. I didn't managed to finish it before we went to Italy but now it's done, blocked and ready to be shipped. I hope she likes it.

I just love the way it turned out to be. I love its color. When I asked my mother-in-law what was her favorite color, she said: "Tutte sfumature di blu" (all shades of blue). The choice wasn't easy for me: I wasn't sure if she would prefer deep blue or more vivid shade but when I saw this yarn I knew it would suit her.

The yarn I used is Ararucania Ranco Solid. I wasn't sure if one skein will be enough for a large size of the shawl so I did the small size. I ended up using around 70g out of 100g skein; it might have been enough for a large size then. I really don't like when I'm left with some odd amount of yarn, I never know what to do with it.

The lace pattern is easily memorable and not very complicated but I did manage to mess it up few times. I had to unravel few rows every now and then and there is nothing worse than undoing lace row (going backwards one stitch at a time). I could have finished this shawl much quicker if it wasn't  for those mistakes...
