Once upon a time I used to be an early bird and I loved it. I loved waking up at around 4-5am just to make some coffee and read books until it was time to get ready for school/work. It was my habit for many years and today I wonder what happened to it? Am I really so tired that I am no longer able to lift my eyelids at dawn? These two or three hours before G. is awake would certainly help me to accomplish few things that I am not able to do during the day. But even a cup of espresso that C. brings me to bed early in the morning before he leaves for work not always really wakes me up. I think I should get myself one of those mugs with writing on them: "all that coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person".
The photo for this Corner View is random. Early morning dew, sparkling in the rising sun. I found this image in one of my old folders. I decided to tidy up 25 thousands photos that are on my computer at the moment and I keep finding interesting images that I always wanted to post here but never did. I might start doing it now. "From old folders" sort of thing; let's say every Thursday I'll post one or two old photos here.

Thank you Cole for this week theme :)
I really envy people who can get up in the morning as I ABSOLUTELY can't. I love working at night though.
ReplyDeleteI love this green shot.
Like early spring too :-)
Your description of your morning glory could be mine! I discover the emergency of having a morning coffee latte when I was pregnant (and desires of prenant women couldn't be resisted) and for the last 16 months it is a question of survival ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour picture is so refreshing: it's said that it is really healthy to walk barefoot in the morning grass, but I never could do it ;-)
Have a good day!
A perfect image to go with your early coffee in bed. xo
ReplyDeletebeautiful dewy picture! morning people amaze me. howdo they do it? maybe you can ask your younger self?
ReplyDeletelooking forward to the old pix. xoxo..
I get up 4:45 clock when I go to work - no, I'm not really an early bird. I would rather go back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteYour header is very, very beautiful.
We grow and change, don't we? I have always been a night owl/late sleeper but I've learned to get up early three days a week - seems just about right! A few early mornings, a few days of sleeping in. Happy Medium? I think so!
ReplyDeleteYes please to an old folder segment - sounds lovely!
how nice to have the morning coffee served in bed :)
ReplyDeletei'm really not an early bird, but i love the quietness of the early mornings though.
look forward to your old pic series.
There is nothing better than rising early and starting the day before the world is up. It has been a long time since I have done that!
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful ritual you had. That is my ideal. I try to get up as early as possible between 5:30 and 6 - though it won't last...once the sun starts coming up later, the later I start rising too. Early morning quiet with coffee and books is the best - I'm with you on that one :^)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more of your random old photos - this one is a beauty...
I would love to have someone bring me coffee in bed, but knowing me, I 'd drink it bed and then go back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThe grass looks so refreshing and clean. It invites a barefoot romp.
I always say I'm going to keep getting up early in the summer, but that doesn't happen. I revert back to "late to bed and late to get up." It just seems to work best for me, although as a teacher I have to conform to early hours during the school year. I just get less sleep.
ReplyDeleteOne more comment: The dew drops on the bright green leaves are refreshing and make for a lovely photo. That's a good idea you have for showing the photos in your folders.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture to illustrate the theme of the week.
ReplyDeletewhat a jolly good idea! i've already noticed you've posted 'bout london, will go check out in a sec.
ReplyDeleteand how funny! i am still doing what you are contemplating in your post : waking up early to get things done, mainly to read...
actually, i prefer to do that in wintertime... ;)
n♥
next time i'm in london, we might grab us a coffee?
I know what you mean. I've just recently gone back to being an early bird :)
