I need to tell you a little secret: I'm addicted to buttons. I remember that when I was a little girl my grandma had lots of them. Small and big, wooden and plastic, and some of them were even covered in fabric. She kept her buttons in a big jar and I used to play with them whenever I visited her. I would pour out the content of that jar on the floor and I would try to match them or count them all. I believed they were some kind of jewels. One of them ended up in my nose which was pretty scary (hey, I was little and I didn't think that putting a small button in my nostril was such a bad idea. Now, when I'm a mother I do think differently! ;) ). Anyway, the love for buttons survived until these days. Now I have my own glass jars filled up with many kinds of buttons collected over the years. So imagine my joy when I found these in the post today:
A far away friend of mine that I met through Ravelry (what was our life like before Ravelry...?) has kindly shared her stash of these pretty buttons with me. They are so precious! I absolutely adore them and I have already started looking for a project to knit so I can use them soon. I showed them to little G. and she loved them too, especially the little kitties (she loves cats).
Thank you Lete for this surprise!
You're welcome :-)

ReplyDeleteoooh, those buttons are amazing!! I can't get over how cute those snails are.
ReplyDeleteSo little and precious! I love buttons too. Have fun finding a project for them! Your post reminded me of a pattern I saw on ravelry today called "Button Tonic" that used random un-matched buttons along a dress hem. Very cute - perhaps it would make a good way to show off some of your collected treasure. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, they are so cute! So jealous! :)
ReplyDeleteGasp! I love the snails, but those kitties are hard to deny. Meow!
