I ponder a lot about our future. Where we are now and where will we be? Will we ever find our place, the place where we finally be able to grow our roots? And how long will it take us?
I'm beginning to wonder whether there is an answer to those questions, especially for bicultural families. Roots are not transportable, and yet we all need roots. It would be lovely and peaceful to finally find a place we can call home.
I have those same thoughts. After many years I have decided it's best to bloom where I am planted. I have come to see that things have a way of working themselves out at the right time.
I just glanced at your words and can so relate, we are here now two years and two more probably to go and then... not sure where the wind will take us, am secretly hoping to settle down in a nice university town in say Denmark or the Netherlands. I am yearning to put down some real roots for the children and for my own sake as well.
I love the photo a lot! These questions are valid for all us, wherever we are, and yes, we can find a balanced life here and now, it's just a matter of wanting it (if it was that easly.... :-)!
