Corner View: Home

We don't have Home yet- we are still looking for our place on Earth; we are just like seeds in the wind, searching for the place where we could finally grow roots and call it Home. In the past five years I lived in eight different addresses. These photos above show corners of some of them. I learnt not to get too attached but yet I do. I sometimess miss those places. Especially window views since all I can see now from our sitting-room window is wall. This is the only place I won't miss when we finally move. I do hope that next year we are woken up by sun again.

Beautiful corners:

  2. oh, but each is lovely! rich and colorful, lived in.

i moved a lot for many years - where we are now is the longest i have EVER lived in one house in my life (5 years), and the longest i have lived in one city since childhood. i get itchy to move, go, find a new place - and get so tired of 'here'. but i wonder at the memories we are creating for the boys - no matter where we are or go, that place is 'home' to them! :)

I am totally with you about not getting too attached. You just never know when it's time to move....again.

  4. So the second one is England, the fireplace proves it. The kitchen, is it your currant home? Feels so homy and cosy, I wish for you it was your "family" place.

  7. Wow, eight homes in five years... now that is busy! After we moved into our home last May, I was glad that this is our last move for some time. In Germany since there are no closets everyone uses the big wardrobes that are huge, heavy, and hard to transport. No wonder so many people stay put for so long.

  9. Wow! I would have guessed your photos were all the same home - something binds them together. I'm with you on the windows: very important for well-being. I'm not one to close the drapes (except at night) to feel secure; a good view always feels like "home."

Thanks for sharing your corners today.

  10. wow. that is a lot of different addresses. your home is with your family, but your images of past corners lived in are stunning. in fact, i love your style, no matter which place you have planted yourself.

  18. Some people live in homes with curtains on all windows, and views are not important to them. Like you, I need views, and sunlight streaming through the windows -- I don't have that now - and I'm also dreaming of moving - but this house is was my family calls home. It's strange how family life changes many things. I wish you happiness, wherever home may be.
