Corner View #7

This week subject: Cityscapes.
This is how the heart of Genoa looks like. It’s a terraced city, built on many levels and I must honestly admit that I don’t really like it for it. If you live in upper part of Genoa- you’re lucky, you probably have panoramic view over the city, you admire the sea and every morning you are woken up by the sun. But if you live in the lower part of Genoa- you probably complain about your dark flat where sunlight is a rare visitor and you probably can see walls and other buildings from your window.

But, somehow, I still think there’s something magic about Genoa.

  11. Firstly? Love the new header. Love! Second.. I think your city is beautiful, but I can see how some might want the sunshine from the country. But I agree it does seem magical.

  12. Wow That is so dense. I would hate to live in the area without the sun. I'm not so sure I'll ever be ready for a city like this.

  15. I've always loved cozy European cities nestled in the hills... lovely photos.

Hamburg is ofen gray and gets a lot of rain being so close to the water, but it does provide fatasic views.

  17. I have never been to Genova, but a family member used to live there and whenever I saw his pictures it was just stunning, the harbour, the centre....And some other friends of mine keep talking about the beautiful flowers they cultivate over there? could that be?? Or am I mistaking it with some other area..hmm...now I'm not sure anymore.
Lovely shots btw!!! And you know, it's just a few hours from Genove to Verona...it's really a beautiful city as well you know ;-p

  21. Beautiful. I love the terraced effect, but I can see how it would be much nicer if you lived at the higher level.

  22. OH, so beautiful! You're so right... I never thought about the fact that there would be limited sunlight on the lower end. That water is calling my name!
