From old folders: London calling.

Thank you for your nice comments on my last post. Today's Thursday so as I said I'm posting first photos from my old folders. They are random images taken in London that I wanted to post long time ago but never did. There's many more. I keep finding lots of photos that were long forgotten on my computer. And next Thursday I might post some pictures from Italy. I miss Italy, a lot.

Weird thing: I don't miss London. I love London but I don't miss a thing from our life there. Maybe because I know it's only four hours by train from here. Settling down in Edinburgh happened quite smoothly and quickly and we love it here. We don't miss crowds and fast pace of the British capital at all.

Have a great day Everyone!

Corner View: Early.

Once upon a time I used to be an early bird and I loved it. I loved waking up at around 4-5am just to make some coffee and read books until it was time to get ready for school/work. It was my habit for many years and today I wonder what happened to it? Am I really so tired that I am no longer able to lift my eyelids at dawn? These two or three hours before G. is awake would certainly help me to accomplish few things that I am not able to do during the day. But even a cup of espresso that C. brings me to bed early in the morning before he leaves for work not always really wakes me up. I think I should get myself one of those mugs with writing on them: "all that coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person".

The photo for this Corner View is random. Early morning dew, sparkling in the rising sun. I found this image in one of my old folders. I decided to tidy up 25 thousands photos that are on my computer at the moment and I keep finding interesting images that I always wanted to post here but never did. I might start doing it now. "From old folders" sort of thing; let's say every Thursday I'll post one or two old photos here.

Thank you Cole for this week theme :)

I spy: a b c

I'm joining Lete in her Monday editions of "I spy...". Every Monday we show an image associated with a letter of the alphabet. Whatever comes first to your mind, whatever you see around you. You spy with your eye...

I'm a bit behind the schedule so I'm posting three letters at once. What fun!

a is for avocado

 b is for breakfast

c is for crochet

Seven things...

I was awarded by Lete and invited to join some blog fun :)

All awarded blogers are supposed to write seven things about themselves so here they are:

Seven random things about me:
1. I love spinach, I could eat it every single day.
2. I'm a real coffee addict. I wont function properly if I don't have my morning fix ;)
3. I used to learn seven foreign languages but can only speak two of them without embarrassment ;)
4. I love cooking but I'm completely hopeless when it comes to baking. I can only bake gingerbread and oat cookies and even these don't always come out right ;)
5. I love mountains more than sea.
6. I've tried to be a vegetarian few times but no luck so far.
7. My favourite color of all times is green (even my nickname on Ravelry (verdeka) shows it: "verde" means green in Italian and "ka" are the first letters of my first name)

Funnily enough, it was't that easy to write seven random things about myself.
I am supposed to pick up 16 other lovely bloggers to join the fun but instead I'm inviting anyone who wants to play. Just leave a link to your "seven random things about yourself" in the comments so I can visit you :)

Thank you Lete for the award!

Edinburgh: random images.

(to be continued...)

Mission possible: destashing.

One of my knitting resolution for 2011 was knitting as much as possible from my stash and buying as little as possible to keep my stash tidy and under control. Well, what can I say? I haven't been very faithful to this promise. But how can I resist all that beautiful yarn out there, especially that it's sale season now and you can find yourself some pretty good deals...? I'm sure you know the feeling... So my stash has been growing and expanding and I have finally made the decision: NO MORE new yarn until I finish at least 8 new projects. Mission impossible? Possible, I hope :)

I have already few works in progress that I'll be sharing in my future posts.

Happy knitting Everyone!
